Author: Sava Dimov (Burgas Free University)
Keywords: One Belt One Road, Economic Belt of the Silk Road, 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, Next-generation 5G networks, “Smart city” project and Artificial intelligence of a new generation.
The following research problems are brought to the attention of the author - Opportunities for digitalization of the “One Belt, One Road” project, Cooperation in the implementation of next- generation 5G networks, Studying China's experience in the implementation of the “smart city” project and China's experience in the development of the artificial intelligence industry. The author comes to two main conclusions: first, the digitization of the global economy and the rapid development of application areas such as digital learning driven by big data provide China with an opportunity to make a technological breakthrough in the field of artificial intelligence. Second, China relies on foreign partners to supply chips and microelectronic components, without which it is impossible to develop not only AI products but also the entire digital infrastructure. They, in turn, create products based primarily on US technology.
