Eco- Innovations, Repair Costs and Environmental Protection in Bulgaria

The global economy faces a number of challenges related to the environment and economic competitiveness. To protect the environment and increase the competitiveness of organizations, technologies, processes and business models are needed that use resources effectively. These are the so-called 'eco-innovations'. Research is essential for the rapid development of innovation and job creation. The study presents the budgeted expenditures for research and the costs of environmental protection and restoration in Bulgaria for the period 2014-2018. Generally, they are defined as costs that arise as a result of legal provisions in order to contribute to the recovery from environmental pollution.
